Montreal woman identified as world's oldest Canadian Press
Montreal — A 115-year-old Montrealer has taken over the title of the world's oldest woman.
Winnifred Bertrand assumed the title when Elizabeth Bolden died last week in a Memphis, Tenn., nursing home at the age of 116, Montreal La Presse reported Saturday.
According to the French-language newspaper, the only person in the world older than Bertrand is a Puerto Rican man who is 26 days her senior.
Originally from Coaticook, Que., Ms. Bertrand never married, has no children and now lives in a north-end nursing home, La Presse said.
