ZitatCalgary's population continues to grow, but the increase is not only the result of a roaring economy, the city is experiencing a baby boom.
A record 10,000 infants were born in 2006, which helped boost the population by 28,000, according to the newest census figures.
Since welcoming its one-millionth resident last April, Calgary's population has grown to 1,020,000.
Last year's increase, however, was not as rapid as in year's past, bringing some relief to a city plagued with infrastructure and affordable housing shortages.
