Do Canadians mean Supermarket when they say "I am going to the grocery store?" Just wondering whether this is a saying-"restroom"-instead-of-"toilet" thing.
That's my understanding of this term, grocery store is a supermarket. The smaller stores where you buy just a drink or cigarettes are called convinience stores or corner stores.
