I'm sorry if my previous post was somehow 'misleading' to some of you. I am somewhat surprised by the offended resondees. I help with the process of emigrating to canada. I am not registered with the CISC. Perhaps one day i will pay them to become a member. For now, i 'help' Germans prepare and to find work in canada. They are usually too busy with their preparation to become mainstays on message boards which chat about the topic. As most of you are aware, positions being offered in canada are 99% related to the skilled labour workforce eg welders, electricians. Your level in ENGLISH as well as work experience in these positions is crucial if one chooses to apply through the Skilled Worker Program. Finding work as a clerk/secretary/salesman is unlikely. The entire list of positions listed as well as the companies which presented earlier this year at the Messe can be found here (as you can see, there is a definite trend):
Applying for a Temporary Work Permit depends on your 'Letter of Intent' from a future employer. For those of you who have chosen this path, i'm sure you've experienced how difficult it is to obtain a this letter from an employer in another country. It is of course for a limited time and there is no security in knowing that a Permanent Residency Status will be granted during your stay. You may be asked to leave when the permit has expired. Another possiblity is the Provincial Nominee program which is starting to expand in provinces who are desperately in need of foreign workers. The rules differ from province to province and on a monthly basis.
Hope this helps...and once again, sorry to the offended. steveguerrera@hotmail.com
'There are also a lot of people trying to make a quick buck from all these people in needs and I assume so do you ?'
Please remember that stereotyping is frowned upon in canada as well....i do not take advantage of anyone.
With regard to the '99% skilled labour workforce figure', this may or may not be an exaggeration....did 1960s germany bring in Industriekaufmann from turkey and italy? The oil and gas boom which canada is experiencing is no different. Skilled labourers are essential.
