You also need to make sure your resume is in the Canadian format, strictly chronological as they don’t like anything fancy. Mine goes in this order; name, address, synopsis, career history, technical skills, qualifications.
As a landed immigrant, you shouldn’t have a problem getting a job but you need to network.
Telus, ICBC, BC Hydro, Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health Authority are the big players in town.
