Samstag (02. feb) ist Groundhog Day. Wunderbare Sache...... hier der background:
if a groundhog, also known as a woodchuck, marmot or ground squirrel, emerges from its burrow on this day and fails to see its shadow because the weather is cloudy, winter will soon end. If the groundhog sees its shadow, it will return into its burrow, and the winter will continue for 6 more weeks.
Na dann lasst uns mal das beste hoffen! Die Viecher sehen uebrigens so aus:

WIARTON, Ont. - It was a week of severe weather across the country as the Prairies hunkered down in bone-chilling temperatures, an ice storm struck Prince Edward Island and a blustery snowstorm dumped on Ontario and Quebec, but according to Canadian weather forecasters of the furry variety, the end is in sight.
Wiarton Willie, Canada's most famous weather prognosticating rodent, failed to see his shadow when roused from his slumber Saturday morning in the small southern Ontario community.
Folklore has it that if a groundhog sees his shadow on Groundhog Day, he'll flee to his burrow, heralding six more weeks of winter - if he doesn't, it means an early spring.
An early spring is also the prediction of Canada's other famous groundhog, Nova Scotia's Shubenacadie Sam. He emerged from his burrow at Shubenacadie Wildlife Park and failed to see his shadow.
Early spring, early spring.... womöglich schon im Mai
