PS: I am sorry my German is not perfect, hope its understandable. Please feel free to answer in german or English.
But I think I can give you few information’s about Edmonton. You have a good chance to find a job as 'Customer Service Representative' here in Edmonton, but I see problems to find a job as 'Marketing Manager' for your husband, without Canada experience!!! If you need more information just ask!!!!
Ich versuch immer gut deutsch zum schreiben und sprechen. sehr schwer! aber geht gut. thanks so much for the links for wiki, its nice reading through learning something new.very helpful.
greetings, Cecilia
Hello Ralf30,
Thanks for your reply, info and compliments about my German.Wow, German grammar IS difficult. but i try. your English is good too from what I read. I really do hope that he can find a job in Alberta. At the moment he is also searching for Sales jobs too, maybe later he can look for marketing job. For me, I have worker previously as Hotel Front Desk and my last job was in Customer Service. So I am glad that I will be able to find a job.Its not been easy here in Vienna.
Hows the living standard there in terms of expenses compared to Calgary? Because my choice is Edmonton, I like small cities.
One more question.. I was thinking of flying over there to look for a job myself, after my husband comes back to Vienna, do you think the chances are good if I was to come there personally for an interview?
the living standard and the living cost in Calgary and Edmonton are almost the same, but Edmonton is not a small city , we have about 1 Mil. people here too.
It is all times better to come personally for a job interview, you can show them your good language skills and you can explain a lot about your job skills.Your chance to get a job at this way are really good.
I am german citizen, 40 years old. At the moment, i am still working as IT customer service representative for a software company in germany. I will also like to immigrate to canada through a WP . Several times, i have already applied for the same job in alberta but i could not find an employer who is ready to sponsor me and start the WP process. Could you confirm that, by travelling in alberta it is easier and possible as well without RP to receive a job offer for a CSR position? is this job also under pressure? is there any possibility to complete all the WP process without leaving the country?
I'm not sure why I assumed Edmonton is a small city.. haha I guess because I spoke to my cousin who is in Ontario she told me its small, well smaller than Calgary. Well, thanks so much for your help and info. I guess I have to make plans when my husband comes back from Calgary for me to come over, se how far my luck will take me.
@ Martin Hi, I too have applied for lots of jobs in Customer Service and also Hotel front desk in Calgary,Edmonton and BC but with no success, most employers say you call them when you are there or have a work permit. So I was thinking of flying over there to meet face to face, its more convincing i guess. Good luck!
I found a few job offers for Customer Service on the internet site from the ‘German Arbeitsamt’ , but all of them in the Hotel business .When you go to the internet site from the ‘German Arbeitsamt’, go to’ Jobboerse’, then ‘Suchkriterien hinzufuegen’, ‘Land aendern’, change to ‘Kanada’ and there you have all job offer for Canada. The most companies on these sites are willing to give you an LMO. Just try it out, maybe you are lucky and get a good job here in CA.
Thanks for the info about the german arbeitsamt. I tried accessing it but its down for maintainance until Sunday so I will check on Monday. Hopefully there are some jobs.
