A record number of bookings at provincial campgrounds was made Monday, the opening day of registrations. By noon, more than 9,000 sites were booked across the province.
Officials are crediting two main things for the demand: free park entrance and improvements to the electronic queuing service.
The Manitoba government, to encourage people to holiday in their home province, eliminated the entrance fees for the next two years. The announcement was made in the budget last month.
