The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are set to visit Canada next summer.

Gov.-Gen. Michaelle Jean confirmed the mid-2010 visit in a statement Sunday.

But details on where the Queen and Prince Philip would stop, the length of their trip and the exact arrival date are still up in the air.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper had invited the Queen during a visit to Buckingham Palace last April.

“It is always a high honour to host a royal visit,” Harper said in a statement.

“This visit by The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will be a celebration of our shared heritage and values which are enduring sources of pride for millions of Canadians.”

Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the duchess of Cornwall, are scheduled to visit Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and the National Capital Region this November.

So eine Koenigin mit schickem Hut ist schon was anderes als so ein droeger Bundespraesident. Der Kaiser von Japan war mit Gemahlin uebrigens auch gerad in Toronto.
Was das Thema Kolonie angeht hast du die kanadische Verfassung nicht ganz verstanden, "there is no provision in Canadian law that states that the King or Queen of Canada must be the same person as the King or Queen of the United Kingdom; if the United Kingdom were to breach the convention set out in the preamble to the Statute of Westminster and change the line of succession to the British throne without Canada's consent, the alteration would have no effect on the reigning sovereign of Canada or his or her heirs and successors."

Vor einigen Wochen war schon mal royaler Besuch in Canada,haette ich gewusst,das dir das was bedeutet,haette ich es schon mal reingestellt...nun ja,ist ja noch nicht zu spaet
