Hello,

I am 30 years young and I am a Romanian citizen with permanent residence in Germany. I am married here in Germany and I also live here. My wife and my son have both the German citizenship but I am still a Romanian citizen with permanent residence in Germany. I am currently unemployed and I plan to visit my brother who lives in Montreal, QC, because me and my wife are planning to immigrate in two years. For this I need a visa in order to visit the country. I've read on the official site of the Embassy that I need a few documents and if my brother supports me on the duration of my visit it may be easier to process my request. My question is : Is there any way as an unemployed (Romanian citizen) to obtain a temporary visa in order to visit the country, or should I forget it. I would like to visit the country first in order to see if I like it after all. I cannot immigrate to a country I've never seen in my life, it's like driving with the eyes closed, somehow stupid.

I've never been convicted, never been charged in any crime, never had problems with the police, my police certificate is clean as as possible. My brother said he'll complete a request at the mayors office for my invite, he'll pay the airline ticket, all I have to do is to pay the Consular fees for the visa request which are 75 CAD so 55 €uros, not the world. In that case should I tell him to send me that invite so I can apply for the visa request ?

It's always up to the officer to decide on a case by case bases , I suggest you travel all together as a family and submit sufficient prove of funds for your traveling beforehand.
PS: Yes I am positive your brother should send you an official invitation and maybe state here in ,that you might want to immigrate in order to get the family ties together and that this will be your information trip and as well that he covers all your expenses if needed.

the thing is I am traveling alone, or at least I planned it, because my wife has to work through the holiday season so she cannot get vacation. I planned to stay 2 months top in order to visit Canada and see some sightseeings so I can decide whether we immigrate in a year-two or not . So after all I should try to apply, well those 55 € more or less, I guess I can take that sacrifice.

eine garantie gibt es nicht, dass du ein visa bekommst.

der zentrale punkt ist, wie du 150% beweisen kannst, dass du nach zwei monaten zurück nach deutschland reisen wirst.

das du derzeit keine arbeit hast macht die beweisführung nicht leichter.

das du frau und kinder in de hast, ist für die kanaider auch kein zwingennder beweis, dass du zurück reisen wirst.

habt ihr überhaupt eine chance einzuwandern? das heißt, hast du einen beruf - oder deine frau, der euch erlaubt einzuwandern?

dein bruder kannn dich nicht sponsern, um das zu erwähnen.

also - das visa wird davon abhängen ob du die geforderten beweise erbringen kannst. das dein bruder deine reise finanziert ist ebenfalls keine garantie.

grundsätzlich ist es aber kein zentrales problem, dass du derzeit arbeitslos bist.

ja klar kann ich Deutsch, ich kam zwar nu 2006 nach Deutschland aber ich hatte auch Interesse Deutsch zu lernen, ist ja zum meinem Vorteil, und wenn man sich integrieren will...

Ich bin EDV Informatiker vom Beruf, meine Frau Finanzbuchhalterin, habe aber in Deutschland als Ramp Handling Agent am Flughafen zwei Jahre gearbeitet, wo ich auch die Ausbildung genossen habe und div. Zertifikate erworben habe. Meine Frau arbeitet auch zur Zeit ja als Finanzbuchhalterin.

Das war ja klar das die Kanadier ein wenig anders ticken, aber was ich nicht verstehen kann, wie wollen sie das die Leute auswandern wenn sie den Leuten nicht mal die möglichkeit geben sich Kanada anzuschauen. Vieles muß man nicht verstehen...

Achja, was ich fast vergessen habe, ich habe den Test, oder wir haben den Test fürs Auswandern schon gemacht, da braucht man ja auch eine bestimmte Punktzahl, wir waren auf jedem Fall drüber, also in der Hinsicht sehe ich kein Problem, was mir Kopfschmerzen bereitet ist, ich möchte mir mal das Land ansehen bevor ich die endgültige Entscheidung treffe, obwohl meine Frau die Entscheidung schon getroffen hat...

das ist einfach zu verstehen - früher hatte man auch keine chance mal kurz füür einen urlaub nach kanada zu fliegen - wochenlange schiffsreisen - etc.

etntweder man will auswandern oder nicht das ist eine entscheidung, die ...

und über kanada kann man sich doch inzwischen sehrt gut informieren.

nicht nur in alten bücher sondern via internet.

viele sagen, dass ein besuch sowieso nicht das "wahre" land zeigt und dir die leute in ca eh alles rosarot erzählen, wenn du mit ihnen sprichst...

diese diskussion hatten wir immer wieder im forum

und mark sieht beispielsweise das " gute"

und nochwas - wenn ihr tatsächlich genug punkte habt und deine frau auf der liste der erwünschten berufe steht, dann solltet ihr soofort den pr antrag einleiten. das dauert eh lange, der gesamte prozess

es zwingt dich später keiner im land zu bleiben, wenn du als PR gelandet bist..

ob du hier weiter englisch oder deutsch schreibt ist auch egal

and here is the key phrase for ANY visitor:
"You will not be allowed into Canada if you give false or incomplete information, or if you do not satisfy the officer that you are eligible for entry into Canada. You will also have to satisfy the officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay in Canada."

du brauchst u.a. ein einladungsschreiben deines bruders und sofern du ueber nicht genuegend eigenmittel verfuegst muss in dem schreiben auch drin stehen, dass er fuer die kosten aufkommt. in diesem fall benoetigt er eine bescheinigung seines arbeitgebers mit gehaltsangabe (so war es bei uns). wenn das visum nur ca. 60 euro kostet dann versuchs einfach mal. wie bereits einige erwaehnt haben sind die aussichten relativ gering, da du keinen job in DE hast und die behoerden scheinen dies als staerkstes indiz zu werten - je besser der job und das gehalt, desto besser die chancen. du solltest in deinem schreiben sehr starke argumente aufbringen, wieso du wieder zurueck nach DE gehen wirst (family, immobilien, etc.) und dies auch nachweisen. ich unserem falle wurde das visum verweigert - trotz stichhaltiger nachweise ueber eine rueckkehr. die gebuehr lag bei 250 euro, so dass wir auf einen weiteren versuch verzichtet haben.
