SYDNEY (Reuters) - An Air Canada plane bound for Vancouver was forced to dump fuel and return to Sydney on Thursday after crew reported smoke coming from an oven in the galley, the airline said.

The Boeing 777 aircraft landed safely without incident, according to a Sydney Airport spokesman.

Air Canada's general manager for Australia and New Zealand Jeannie Foster was quoted by local media as saying the plane returned to Sydney as a precaution, denying earlier reports of a fire.

"A crew member saw smoke come out of the oven in the galley and informed the captain. The captain took the precaution to return to Sydney... No emergency was declared. There was no fire, only smoke," she was quoted as saying on Sky News.

She added the aircraft was expected to leave for Canada later on Thursday.

Wenn ich mich recht erinnere, sind die Übergepäckkosten sogar noch günstiger,
wenn man noch vor Juni 2011 die Flüge gebucht hat (es müssten dann nur
ca. 60 Dollar sein - ohne Gewähr!!!!) Muss nochmals nachsehen bei AC.
Bekam diese Woche neue Bestimmungen über Gepäckvorschriften bei Flügen (inkl. Übersee im Office von den Fluggesellschaften). Da gibt es wieder Änderungen auch bezüglich Handgepäck. Muss mich erstmal durch die ganzen Mails durcharbeiten.

Ist schon seltsam dort. Insbesondere anch Einbruch der Dunkelheit. Jedoch gehe ich immer noch mit anderen Augen durch eine Stadt und sehe Dinge, die andere evtl. nicht sehen.
Wäre ich da Cop, hätte ich ne Menge Leute zum kontrollieren gehabt. Einen Drogeldeal konnte ich auch beobachten. Ist mir im Dienst nie passiert!

Sagt mal wann kann ich den mein Ticket buchen, das Datum geht gerade nur bis mitte August .... glaube ich.
Müsste aber ein Rückflug ab mitte September haben, muss ich da einfach noch einen Monat warten?
