Endlich hab ich nen Radiosender gefunden der 24h Weihnachtsmusik in den Aether plaerrt Ich mach alle Nachbarn fertig Ihr wollt Weihnachten...Ihr bekommt Weihnachten )

Baumkuchen habe ich hier in all den jahren noch nie gesehen, aber der marzipan stollen vom Costco schmeckt prima! Dominosteine beim K&K foodliner, marzipan, spekulatius und Mohrenkoepfe, auch beim Italien centre gibt es viele dieser suessen sachen.

Selbst machen ist etwas schwerer, da der Geschmack schon anders ist. Versuch es mal mit ebay, da gibt es alles.

Danke Coffee Bean,

war letzte Woche beim K&K und hab mir Lebkuechen, Baumkuchen, Dominosteine, Jacobskaffee( gehoert natuerlich
auch zu Weihnachten) und noch anderen KrimsKrams gekauft. Sollte eigentlich bis Weihnachten reichen, unsere
canadischen Freunde waren aber schneller und haben mir alles weggegessen. Die haben sowas noch nie vorher
gehabt und waren richtig begeistert, wie gut das schmeckt.Naja, muss also am Freitag noch mal los und einkaufen.

Hi to all
I thought this might be the right place to share my excitement with you,
My daughter’s sister in law came from Nunavut where she lives to Ontario to deliver her baby.
She just gave birth to a healthy baby girl last night.
Yeeeehhhhh what a Christmas gift!!!
And back she goes into the cold

ANd now she's going back to Nunavut?
Is it because of the lack of nurses that she came to Ontario to get her baby or because of the wish to be with the family for that event?

Thanks Hollywood and Thanks Hawaisonne !!
Her and her husbands family is from southern Ontario (he is an RCMP officer and was transferred to Nunavut for work).
She just felt more comfortable to deliver in a familiar place surrounded by family.
They still have some time before they have to go back to live in their igloo again.
Just kidding they have a nice "normal" house.
It looks beautiful out there although it is very lonely . But having Polarbears walking through your backyard is impressive - without a doubt.
How was your Christmas - are you still having the gift giving thing on Christmas eve or on Christmas morning the next day?
We still have it on the 24th.

Wow, I have to say the yukon or Nunavut would be my next great adventure. But we'll see what hubby says, and anyway, it's gonna have to wait until I can work again.
Our Christmas was wonderful, although we were a bit snowed in, even here in North Vancouver But then again, I didn't have a white Christmas in a long time, so it was quite enjoyable
Yep, we had the gift giving thing on 24th, or Bescherung as we call it ant it was really nice.
Although, of course, our biggest gift comes in January (our first baby), so we kind of enjoyed not having to do all the Christmas "craziness", so we were left with what's most important for us: food and presents:-)

Naja, Kartoffelbrei gibt es ja auch aus der Tüte, abgekochtes Wasser schon länger ... fertigen Kaffee ...
Schnitzel aus dem Toaster ... gibt es eigentlich schon fertiges Spiegelei zum aufwärmen in der Microwave?
Braucht noch jemand eine Geschäftsidee?
Wie wäre es mit einem Lieferservice für fertig geschmückte Weihnachtsbäume?
Muss man eigentlich das ganze Fertigfutter nach dem Verdauungsprozess noch selber .... oder gibt es das auch schon fertig in der Tüte? Der Werbeslogan würde mich interessieren.

Das gab es schon mal. Im 1.WK hatten die solche Frontweihnachtsbäume, die klein und praktisch waren. Geschmückt war das Zeug mit dem Nationalfarben (Schwarz-Weiß-Rot) und evtl. Kaiserbilder. Ich habe im TV mal sowas gesehen.
