Ich bin letzte Nacht zweimal dieselbe Strecke durch die Wälder gefahren bei extremstem
Nebel und diese CD war mir ein guter Begleiter. Auch als Geschenk kann ich sie sehr
empfehlen. Willie Trasher (Inuit) ist ein Freund von mir und ich habe mit ihm 2009 zusammen gesungen. Beeindruckt war ich von den Songs von Roger House, die gingen unter die Haut. Was für eine Stimme! People of the setting sun, Beaver Man. Auch Willy Mitchell mit "Call of the Moose".

Sweet Grass is teine heilige Pflanze der Indianer (so steht es auf dem Cover der CD, die
1980 aufgenommen wurde). Sie wird bei Zeremonien verbrannt, um den Geist zu reinigen
und dem Schöpfer die Botschaften zu übermitteln. Es ist ein Dankgebet, eine Geste, die
besagt, daß die Menschen, die sich zusammengefunden haben, ein Herz und eine Seele sind.

Von jeher haben unsere Verwandten die Trommel getanzt, ihre Gebete gesunden, sich in Wind und Stille bewegt und aller unserer Vorfahren in Liebe gedacht - aus dem Dunkeln heraus hat
sich das verändert.

Das Leben der Ureinwohner heute (1980 !) spiegelt die Entfremdung wider und den Kampf
um Identität; ein Kampf, von dem die Jungen heute wieder spüren, daß er sich in verschiedenen
Formen der Kunst und Musik niederschlagen muß.
